Ingredients :
- Split Bengal gram(Chana dal ) - 1 Cup
- Other Mix dal - 1 Cup
- Onion - 1 Cup
- Green chili/ Red chili powder
- Cilantro
- Coriander powder - 1 Tsp
- Cumin seed powder - 1/2 Tsp
- Turmeric - 1/4 Tsp
- Asafoetida - 1 Pinch
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 Tsp
- Curry leaves
- Oil
- Salt
- Soak all dals overnight.
- Drain water and coarsely grind dals.
- Add finely chopped onion, green chili paste or red chili powder, finely chopped cilantro, coriander powder, cumin seed powder, Turmeric, Asafoetida and salt. Mix well.
- Apply oil to palms and prepare small flat rounds. Steam it for 20 mins.

- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds to splutter.
- Add curry leaves and steamed vada.
- Fry for 2 min.
- Serve hot.
