Methi Paratha

Ingredients :

  • Fenugreek leaves(Methi) - 1 Cup
  • Bengal gram flour(Besan) - 2 Tbsp
  • Carom seeds(Ajwain) - 1/2 Tsp
  • Asafoetida - 1 Pinch
  • Garlic paste -1/2 Tsp (optional)
  • Red Chili Powder -1/4 Tsp
  • Turmeric - 1 Pinch
  • Wheat flour
  • Oil
  • Salt
Procedure :
  1. Prepare loose dough of wheat flour like Puranpoli.
  2. Wash fenugreek leaves and chop it finely.
  3. Heat 1 tsp oil and add carom seeds.
  4. When it start splutter, add asafoetida, red chili powder and turmeric.
  5. Add fenugreek leaves and salt.
  6. Mix well and cover with a lid.
  7. Cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Add besan and mix well.
  9. Close the lid and cook for another 1 minute.
  10. Keep aside for cooling.
  11. Make small rounds as shown in picture.
  12. Fill like Puranpoli.
  13. Roll it and roast both the sides.
  14. Apply oil /butter/ghee after removing from pan.
  15. Serve hot with chutney/pickle/sauce.
