Instant Dhokala




Ingredients :

  • Bengal gram flour(Besan) - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • Semolina(Rava) - 1 Tbsp
  • Salt - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 Tsp
  • Eno Fruit salt - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 Tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 Tsp
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Dry grated coconut
  • Asafoetida(Hing)
  • Oil
  • Water

Procedure :

  1. Grease Microwave safe plastic mold with oil.
  2. Take 1 Cup water, keep 2 Tbsp water aside from this.
  3. In a bowl mix Bengal gram flour, 1 Tbsp sugar, lemon juice, salt and water.
  4. In a bowl add 2 Tbsp water and eno fruit salt.
  5. Add this to bengal gram flour.
  6. Pour this mixture in greased mold.
  7. Cook in microwave on high setting for 3-4 min.
  8. Wait for 2 min.
  9. In a bowl add 1/2 cup water, 1 Tbsp sugar.
  10. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add mustard seeds to splutter.
  11. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves.
  12. Add this to the water.
  13. Cut the dhokala into small pieces.
  14. Pour the solution over the dhokala pieces and toss well.
  15. Garnish with coriander leaves and coconut.
  16. Serve with fried green chili and tamarind chutney.
