Kothimbeer Vadi

Ingredients :

  • Coriander leaves(Kothimbeer) - 1/2 Cup
  • Bengal gram flour (Besan) - 1/2 Cup
  • Turmeric - 1 Pinch
  • Chili powder - 1/4 Tsp
  • Carom seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  • White poppy seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  • Dry grated coconut
  • Mustard seeds
  • Cumin seeds
  • Asafoetida - 1 Pinch
  • Oil
  • Salt

Procedure :

  1. Wash and chop coriander leaves.
  2. Mix besan, coriander leaves, turmeric, Red chili powder, carom seeds and salt.
  3. Add water to prepare batter.
  4. Apply oil to the surface of cooking pan.
  5. Pour the batter and cook in a pressure cooker without whistle for 10 min.
  6. Remove and cut into small pieces.
  7. Spread poppy seeds on the pieces and press lightly.
  8. Heat oil in a pan.
  9. Add mustard seeds to splutter.
  10. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
  11. Spread the Tadka (i.e oil with mustard) over vadi.
  12. Garnish with grated coconut.
