Upama

Ingredients :

  • Semolina - 1/2 Cup
  • Onion(Diced) - 1/4 Cup
  • Tomato (Diced) - 1/4 Cup
  • Potato (Diced) - 1/8 Cup
  • Carrot (Diced) - 1/8 Cup
  • Green Chili - 1
  • Split black gram - 1/4 Tsp
  • Ginger Pieces - 1/4 Tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice - 1 Tsp
  • Coriander leaves

Procedure :

  1. Fry semolina well and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add mustard seeds to splutter.
  4. Add split black gram, green chili and ginger
  5. Add onion and fry till it changes golden brown.
  6. Add potato and carrot.
  7. Cover the lid for 1 min.
  8. Add tomato and fry well.
  9. Add 1 and 1/2 cup water.
  10. When water starts boiling, slowly add semolina.
  11. Add salt and lemon juice.
  12. Cover the lid for 1 min.
  13. Garnish with coriander leaves.
