Shabudana Usal


Ingredients :

  • Sago pearls(shabudana) - 1 Cup
  • Roasted peanut powder - 1/2 Cup
  • Potato slices - 1/4 Cup
  • Green chili/ Red chili powder - 1 Tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  • Lemon juice(optional)
  • Sugar - 1/2 Tsp
  • Salt
  • Ghee - 1 Tbsp

Procedure :

  1. Wash sago pearls.
  2. Put very little water & soak overnight.
  3. Mix peanut powder.
  4. Heat Ghee in a pan.
  5. Add cumin seeds to splutter.
  6. Add green chili & fry well.
  7. Add potato slices and fry well.
  8. Add sago pearls, salt and sugar.
  9. Mix well and cover the lid.
  10. Cook till its colour changes from milky white to transparent white.
  11. Add lemon juice and mix well
  12. Serve with yogurt.
