Simla bhaji

Ingredients :

  • Capsicum - 1
  • Bengal gram flour (Besan) - 1/2 Cup
  • Red chili powder - 1/4 Tsp
  • Coriander seeds powder - 1/4 Tsp
  • Cumin seeds powder - 1/8 Tsp
  • Thick tamarind juice - 1 Tsp
  • Jaggery grated - 1/2 Tsp
  • Turmeric - 1 pinch
  • Asafoetida - 1 pinch
  • Mustard seeds
  • Cumin seeds
  • Oil
  • Salt

Procedure :

  1. Cut capsicum into big pieces.
  2. Mix besan, red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, coriander seeds powder, turmeric, asafoetida, tamarind juice, 1 tsp oil, jaggery and salt.
  3. Add little water if necessary.
  4. Put this solution over capsicum pieces as shown.
  5. Heat oil in a pan.
  6. Add mustard seeds to splutter.
  7. Add cumin seeds.
  8. Put all the capsicum pieces in the oil.
  9. Close the pan with lid.
  10. after few min turn the capsicum and cook well.

Note :

  • If capsicum is small, cut the upper portion, remove seeds and fill the solution in it.
