Idli

Ingredients:

  • Idli Rava - 2 Cup
  • Split black gram(urad dal) - 1 Cup
  • Oil
  • Salt

Procedure :

  1. Soak split black gram and Idli rava separately for 3-4 hours.
  2. Soak idli rava in warm water.
  3. Grind black gram to prepare fine smooth paste.
  4. If idli rava is very fine, squeeze idli rava and add in the black gram paste directly.
  5. If it is not very fine, squeeze it, grind and then add in the black gram paste.
  6. Keep aside for more than 12 hours.
  7. Add salt as per taste.
  8. Grease the idli stand with oil.
  9. Pour the batter and steam for 10-15 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with Sambar and Coconut Chutney.

Note :

  • Fermentation process is very necessary to prepare idli. Keep idli batter in warm place.
