Mix Dal


Ingredients :
  • Split black gram - 1 Tbsp
  • Split green gram - 1 Tbsp
  • Split red lentil - 1 Tbsp
  • Split red gram/ yellow lentil - 1 Tbsp
  • Bengal gram - 1 Tbsp
  • Grated Coconut - 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Fenugreek seeds - 2-3
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 Tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 Tbsp
  • Asafoetida - 1 Pinch
  • Garlic paste - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 Tsp
  • Rassam Powder - 1 Tsp
  • Tamarind juice(thick) - 1 Tbsp
  • Jaggery - 1/2 Tsp
  • Turmeric - 1 Pinch
  • Ghee/Oil
  • Salt

Procedure :

  1. Wash all grams, add turmeric and cook in a pressure cooker.
  2. Mash the gram and add water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds to splutter.
  4. Add fenugreek seeds,asafoetida, ginger paste, curry leaves and fry well
  5. Add grated coconut.
  6. Add the gram solution.
  7. Add red chili powder, rassam powder, tamarind juice, salt and jaggery.
  8. When it starts boiling add coriander leaves.
  9. Boil for 2 min.
  10. Serve hot with rice or chapati.
