- Sesame seeds(Til) - 1/2 Cup
- Jaggery(Brown Sugar)/Sugar -1/2 Cup
- Ghee - 1 Tbsp
Procedure :
- Wash the Sesame seeds with water.
- Drain water and lightly roast the seeds in a pan. Keep aside.
- Apply some ghee to the surface of metal plate.
- Heat ghee in a pan and add brown sugar. Let it melt completely.
- Heat until the solution becomes suitable for vadi. For confirming follow step 6 & 7.
- Take water in a bowl for test.
- Put one drop of the hot solution in the water.
- If it becomes hard, remove the pan from gas.
- Quickly add sesame seeds and mix well.
- Immediately pour this in a greased plate.
- Apply some ghee to the spoon and spread the mixture evenly.
- With the knife make small diamond shapes as shown.
- Allow the mixture to cool.
- Later separate the vadi using spatula.
- Store in an airtight container.
Note :
- Sugar and Jaggery cool quickly and become hard so the vadi should be rolled and cut immediately before cooling.
