Palak Curry - 1




Ingredients :

  • Spinach(Palak) - 1 Bunch
  • Tomato - 1/4 Cup
  • Onion - 1/4 Cup
  • Garlic-Ginger Paste - 1 Tbsp
  • Asafoetida - 1 Pinch
  • Turmeric - 1 Pinch
  • Chili Powder - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Coriander seeds powder -1/2
  • Cumin seeds powder -1/2
  • Mustard seeds -1 Teaspoon.
  • Oil -2 Tbsp
  • Salt

Procedure :

  1. Wash the palak and cook in a little amount of water. Cover the pan with lid while cooking. (for 1 bunch 1/2 cup water).
  2. Prepare a smooth paste using mixer after cooling.
  3. Cut onion and tomato into small pieces.
  4. Heat Oil in a pan.
  5. Add mustard seed to splutter.
  6. Add onion and fry till become golden brown.
  7. Add garlic-ginger paste and fry.
  8. Add asafoetida and tomato and fry well till oil shows on top.
  9. Add chili powder, coriander and cumin seeds powder.
  10. Add smooth paste of palak and salt.
  11. Cover by a lid and cook for 5 min.

Note :

  • The size of palak bunch may vary. The above ingredients are given for 1 Cup smooth paste.
  • You can use green chili instead of chili powder. Cook green chili with palak & blend with palak.
