Soya curry


Ingredients :
  • Soya vadi - 1/4 Cup
  • Onion - 1/4 Cup
  • Tomato - 1/4 Cup
  • Garlic - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Coriander leaves.
  • Garam masala - 1/2 Tsp
  • Red chili powder - 1/4 Tsp
  • Turmeric - 1 Pinch
  • Mustard seeds
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp
  • Salt

Procedure :

  1. Boil soya vadi in 1 Cup of water for 3-4 min.
  2. Drain it from water. Keep the water aside.
  3. Remove all water by pressing vadi by hands.
  4. Cut it into small pieces.
  5. Dice onion and tomato into small pieces.
  6. Cut garlic into small pieces.
  7. Chop coriander leaves.
  8. Heat oil in a pan.
  9. Add mustard seeds to splutter.
  10. Add onion and fry till it becomes golden.
  11. Add garlic and fry well.
  12. Add tomato, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric and fry till oil shows on the surface.
  13. Add soya vadi, mix well and add water.
  14. Add salt as per taste and cook for 2-3 min.
  15. Garnish with coriander leaves.

  1. Thank you for this recipe. I am in the US and new to Soya Vadi. I purchased some in the hope it would be similar to Textured Vegetable Protein. It is much better. This is an excellent dish!

  2. You can get Soya vadi in US. It is available in any Indian grocery shop.
