- Beetroot - 1
- Split Black gram - 1 Tsp
- Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 Tsp
- Red Chili -1
- Tamarind paste - 1 Tsp
- Jaggery - 1 Tsp
- Coconut(grated) - 1/4 Cup
- Turmeric - 1 Pinch
- Asafoetida - 1 Pinch
- Oil
- Salt
Procedure :
- Cut beetroot into small pieces.
- Fry well in a oil and keep aside.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan.
- Add asafoetida, split black gram, fenugreek seeds and red chili.
- Fry till its color changes to golden brown.
- Grind this in grinder with coconut, turmeric and water to prepare a paste.
- Add this paste to fried beetroot.
- Add tamarind paste, jaggery and salt.
- Cook this mixture for 2 min.
- You can use Lady finger, Capsicum, Spring onion and tomato instead of beatroot.
- Don't add tamarind paste for tomato.
