Gajar Halwa



Ingredients :

  • Carrot - 1 Cup
  • Ghee - 1 Tablespoon
  • Milk - 3/4 Cup
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom Powder
  • Almond
  • Cashew nut
  • Raisin (Kishmish)
  • Ricotta Cheese (Khoa)(optional) -1/8 Cup

Procedure :

  1. Wash the carrot and grate it.
  2. Heat ghee in pan & rost grated carrot.
  3. Add milk & Ricotta Cheese. (If Ricotta Cheese is available use 1/4 Cup milk)
  4. Cook over medium heat until all the milk gets dried up. You should stir the mixture occasionally to prevent any sticking.
  5. Add Sugar, cardamom powder, Raisin, Almond & cashewnut pieces.
  6. Mix well and cook until dried up.

Procedure for Microwave cooking :

  1. Add grated carrot, ghee in a bowl.
  2. Microwave it on high setting for 2 miutes.
  3. Add milk and Richotta cheese.
  4. Microwave it on high setting for 8 minutes. Stir after every 2 minutes and watch closely after 6 min.
  5. Add Sugar, cardamom powder, Raisin, Almond & cashewnut pieces.
  6. Microwave it for another 1 min.
